Teaching Assistant (x2 Positions) – Immediate Start
Location: Stoke (SEND College)
Hours: Both full‑time and part‑time roles available. Usual hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Hours may vary.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside experienced staff to support students with additional learning needs. You will play a key role in helping deliver educational, behavioural, and personal development programmes, under guidance from teachers and specialist staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students in class and individually, helping them engage with learning materials.
  • Assist with implementation of individual support plans, adapting resources as required.
  • Support behaviour management and contribute to maintaining a calm, safe learning environment.
  • Help students develop social, communication, and life skills.
  • Work with teachers and multidisciplinary teams to monitor progress and report on student outcomes.
  • Aid with daily tasks as required (e.g. guided learning, supervision, transitions).

Person Specification / Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs & disabilities (SEND) is highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, as hours may vary.
  • A team‑player approach, with willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
