Job Title: Teaching Assistant – Immediate Start
Location: Remote / rural SEND school, Rugeley area
Hours: Full‑time and part‑time positions available; Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

About The School

This school are part of a leading specialist education provider supporting young people aged 4‑25 with a range of additional needs including autism, SEMH (social, emotional & mental health) and learning difficulties.

The Role

We’re looking for committed and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join our team immediately. These roles (both part‑time and full‑time) support teaching staff in delivering tailored education and helping students with complex needs engage with the curriculum and with school life as fully as possible.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers in-class with delivering learning and supporting students’ individual education plans.
  • Help adapt and differentiate resources to suit learners with varied needs.
  • Support behaviour management, promoting and maintaining a calm, structured, safe learning environment.
  • Contribute to students’ emotional and social development, fostering confidence, independence and resilience.
  • Work closely with other staff, parents/guardians to monitor progress and help plan next steps.
  • Support daily routines: transitions, supervision, possibly pastoral tasks.

 

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience of working with children/young people, preferably with SEND, autism or SEMH.
  • Strong communication skills, empathy, patience and resilience.
  • Ability to adapt – different students will need different types/levels of support.
  • A positive attitude, being reliable and a good team‑player.
  • Must have access to a vehicle or be able to drive, due to remote location of the school.
