Teaching Assistant – Level 3 Qualified

Infant School | Full‑Time | SEN Support

Zest Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant for a full‑time position based at a welcoming Infant School in the Frankley area. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young children during the most important stages of their learning and development.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with pupils who require additional support, including children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) such as SEMH and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Much of the role will involve 1:1 support, helping children to engage with learning, build confidence, and make progress in a nurturing and structured environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing individual and small‑group support to pupils with SEN
  • Supporting children’s emotional, social, and academic development
  • Creating and maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom environment
  • Working collaboratively with class teachers, SEN staff, and parents
  • Assisting with behaviour management and personalised learning strategies

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) – essential
  • Experience working with children in an Infant or Primary School setting
  • Knowledge of SEMH and/or ASD support strategies
  • A patient, empathetic, and reliable approach
  • A strong commitment to professionalism and teamwork
