Zest Education is recruiting a full time Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Lichfield. This is a highly rewarding role supporting children with SEND who are pre-verbal, working within a dedicated nurture room alongside another experienced Teaching Assistant.
Role: Full Time Teaching Assistant
Setting: Nurture Room / SEND Support
Location: Lichfield, Staffordshire
Start Date: After February half term until Easter (initially)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
You will be supporting one child in Year 1 and two children in Reception, helping them to feel safe, supported, and engaged in their learning. The school is looking for someone who is resilient, patient, and committed, and who thrives in a team-based support environment.
Support children with SEND and pre-verbal communication needs
Work alongside another Teaching Assistant in the nurture room
Help children develop communication, emotional regulation, and independence
Use a calm, consistent, and nurturing approach
Support learning through structured routines and play-based activities
Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in a SEND setting (desirable)
Experience supporting SEND and/or pre-verbal children (preferred but not essential)
Must be resilient, patient, and emotionally robust
Able to commit to full time hours, Monday–Friday (8:30–3:30)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
