Part Time Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is recruiting a part time Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with additional needs in a Reception class at a welcoming primary school in Tamworth.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone patient, nurturing, and passionate about supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

About the Role

  • Role: Part Time Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

  • Year Group: Reception

  • Location: Tamworth, Staffordshire

  • Start Date: After February half term

  • Working Days: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

  • Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm

You will provide consistent 1:1 support to help the child access learning, develop communication skills, and feel secure within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver dedicated 1:1 support for a child with additional needs

  • Support learning through structured and play-based activities

  • Encourage communication, engagement, and social development

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO

  • Implement individual support strategies and routines

Requirements

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or working with young children

  • Experience supporting SEND or additional needs (desirable)

  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach

  • Ability to commit to Tuesday–Thursday, 8:30–3:30

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
