Science Teacher

Zest Education have the pleasure of working closely with a Secondary school in the Aldridge area. The school are looking to recruit a full time Science teacher to start September 2024 for a minimum of one full term. This may be extended for the rest of the school year should the school decide it is necessary.

Ideally applicants should have excellent subject knowledge up to KS5 but up to KS4 is sufficient. Ideal candidates should have excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a dynamic learning environment.  The candidate would also be joining the wider science department, who are supportive of one another and coordinate class planning so as to help where they can.

The school is a local secondary school with excellent public transport links and onsite parking as well. The Schools ethos is focused on guiding the students through their academic career to shape them into successful young adults through a creative and adaptable curriculum.

The successful applicant will have:

1. A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
2. A strong passion for the subject of Biology and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
3. A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
4. The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
5. Strong classroom and behaviour management

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
