Zest Education is currently seeking motivated and supportive Teaching Assistants to work within a range of secondary schools throughout Rugby and the surrounding Warwickshire area.

Whether you’re an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone with transferable skills gained through coaching, mentoring, youth work, tutoring, care work, or voluntary roles, we’d love to hear from you. These positions are ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping young people succeed both academically and personally.

We partner with a variety of welcoming secondary schools across Rugby that are looking to strengthen their support teams for the new academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable school-based experience while making a positive impact on students’ education.

Key Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant, your role may include:

  • Providing classroom support to teachers and students across a range of subjects
  • Working with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning
  • Helping students stay focused, engaged, and motivated during lessons
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting a supportive learning environment
  • Assisting with classroom organisation and day-to-day activities
  • Building strong and positive relationships with students and staff

About You

We’re looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive and approachable attitude
  • A genuine interest in supporting young people
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a team
  • Patience, resilience, and adaptability
  • Experience working with children or young people in any capacity (preferred but not essential)

To be considered, applicants should have at least 20 days’ experience working with children or young people within the last five years, or be a recent graduate with relevant transferable skills.

Successful applicants will be required to:

  • Hold an Enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one
  • Be registered with the DBS Update Service
  • Provide references covering the previous two years
  • Complete all mandatory safeguarding and compliance checks

Salary is dependent on experience, qualifications, and training.
This role is offered on a temporary supply basis.
