Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Tamworth. This is a full-time, ongoing role supporting a child on a 1:1 basis who has ADHD.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve success within a supportive primary school environment.

About the Role

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a pupil with ADHD, providing tailored support throughout the school day. You will help the child remain engaged during lessons, develop positive learning habits, and access the curriculum alongside their peers.

Furthermore, you will work alongside the class teacher and SENDCO to implement strategies that support concentration, organisation, emotional regulation, and academic progress. As consistency is key, the school is looking for someone who can build a positive and trusting relationship while maintaining clear expectations and routines.

This role would suit a patient, proactive, and resilient individual who enjoys making a real difference to a child’s educational journey.

  • Adapt activities and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback where required.
  • Encourage confidence, resilience, and participation in school life.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Have experience working with children in a school setting.
  • Have knowledge of ADHD and strategies to support learning and engagement.
  • Be patient, calm, and nurturing in their approach.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their full potential.
