1:1 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with complex needs in a warm and caring primary school in the Atherstone area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a pupil’s school experience while working as part of a supportive and committed team.

The school is part of a wider Multi‑Academy Trust focused on transforming education within its communities, and you will play a key role in helping a child flourish academically, socially and emotionally.

About the Role

You will work on a 1:1 basis, supporting a pupil to access learning, build confidence and thrive within the classroom environment. The role includes:

  • Being responsible for the learning and progress of the pupil in your care
  • Maintaining high standards of conduct, professionalism and support
  • Building strong, respectful relationships rooted in dignity and mutual trust
  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENDCo, parents/carers and external agencies
  • Supporting both academic and pastoral needs
  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the child at all times

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
