1:1 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

1:1 Teaching Assistant – KS2 Primary

Location: Kingstanding, Birmingham
Hours: Full-time or Part-time, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with Autism within a KS2 mainstream primary school in Kingstanding, Birmingham.

This role is available on either a full-time or part-time basis and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child’s educational journey.

The Role:

  • Providing 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with Autism, both academically and socially.

  • Assisting with personalised learning strategies and implementing support plans.

  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive social interaction.

  • Supporting the class teacher and SENCo to ensure the pupil is fully included in school life.

  • Helping to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working with children, ideally within SEN or 1:1 support.

  • Knowledge or experience of supporting children with Autism.

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to individual needs.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • A positive, proactive, and flexible approach.
