Zest Education is currently recruiting for a compassionate and committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with autism at a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Tamworth area. This role is part-time, working 5 mornings per week, and is due to begin in September.
The successful candidate will work closely with a KS2 pupil who requires consistent support with their learning and engagement throughout the school day. This is a vital role that requires a kind, proactive, and patient individual who can build strong, trusting relationships.
Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child diagnosed with autism
Assist with learning activities tailored to the child’s individual needs
Promote emotional well-being and help manage behaviour in a calm, supportive manner
Ensure a consistent and structured routine to help the child feel safe and confident
Work closely with class teachers, SEN staff, and parents to ensure the best possible outcomes
Previous experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis, ideally within a primary school setting
A calm, kind and caring approach
The ability to be proactive and use your initiative when adapting to the child’s needs
Strong commitment to providing consistency – you must be able to commit to the role for at least one full term
A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs thrive in a mainstream setting

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
