We are currently seeking a full-time Classroom Support Assistant for a secondary special educational needs school situated in Lichfield. This position will be commencing September 2022 and will continue on a long term basis into the new academic year.

This school caters for students from the age of eleven to nineteen with wide range of educational difficulties from moderate to severe and complex needs; some of the students have additional physical, sensory and autistic conditions. Due to the needs of the students, the ideal candidate will have previous experience working with special educational needs and is confident with there behaviour management.

All students are divided into groups based on there individual needs and are provided with a personalised curriculum. You may be required to work in a variety of classes so, the school are looking for an individual who can quickly build engaging relationships with small groups of children, and work closely as a team with the class teacher and other teaching assistants.

The role:

  • You have previous experience working with special educational needs or in a care setting
  • You must be be passionate to engage, lead and inspire students
  • You will be adaptable and ready to work in a variety of classroom roles, both indoors and outside according to individual need
