Classroom Support Assistant

Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting young students in their educational journey? Zest Education is recruiting for a classroom support assistant to work at a brilliant school in Castle Vale. The role will be to start in September 2024 on a part time basis and will continue on a long-term basis. The successful candidate will be required to work 3 days a week of their choice.

At the inclusive three form entry school, children are placed at the very heart of everything we do. The school believe in providing a nurturing environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential. In line with this vision, the school also has a resource-based provision that supports pupils with additional needs, such as autism.

As a classroom support assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting the class teacher in day-to-day activities, ensuring that all students receive the support they need to succeed. Your other responsibilities will include:

– Providing one-on-one support to students with additional needs, including global development and ADHD.

– Assisting with lesson preparation.

– Supporting students in their social and emotional development.

– Helping to create a safe and inclusive classroom environment.

– Collaborating with the class teacher and other staff members to deliver an exciting curriculum.

– Working within the resource base and main classroom.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a patient and empathetic nature, and a genuine passion for working with children. Previous experience in a similar role, particularly with supporting pupils with additional needs, is highly desirable.

The pay for this role will start from £80 per day.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
