Classroom Support Assistant.

Zest Education are working with a busy secondary special educational needs school located in Lichfield to recruit a full-time Classroom Support Assistant (CSA). This position is due to start from October 2022 and will continue on a long-term basis into the new academic year.

This school caters for students from the age of 11-19 with moderate educational difficulties some of the students have additional physical, sensory, and autistic conditions. Due to the needs of the learners, the ideal candidate must have experience supporting individuals with SEND or in a care environment.

This school have a dedicated team who work hard to maintain a supportive and inclusive ethos across all areas of the school and put the children at the heart of what they do.

The successful candidate will be required to support the students with their educational and social development on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.  The role will require you to quickly build engaging relationships with the children, and you will need to work closely as a team with the class teacher and other teaching assistants.

The role:

  • You must have experience supporting individuals with special educational needs or in a similar setting
  • You will be working with children a variety of ages so it is important that you are adaptable and can work with a range of needs
  • You will be supporting the class teacher organising the classroom, preparing learning resources and maintaining the classroom to a high standard

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years, teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
