Are you prepared to begin your career as a teacher? If so, Zest Education is hiring an Early Career Teacher (ECT) to support a driven individual with aspirations to further their career. This position is based in a two-form entry friendly school in Northfield working part-time or full-time teaching across KS1. You will have the opportunity to develop your career further and gain professional skills from experienced educators at the school. This role can start September 2024 on a continuous basis. 

The goal of this school is to increase children’s aspirations and remove obstacles to learning so they can succeed in anything they set their minds to. To ensure that every child has a wonderful educational experience, they cultivate a varied and inclusive environment. The ideal applicant should have a strong desire to help children succeed academically and will be able to inspire and encourage them to strive for the best.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Organise and teach lessons in accordance with the plans, curriculum, and work schemes of the school.
  • Establish high standards that encourage, inspire, and test students.
  • Create specialised teaching strategies and regularly implement them in the classroom.
  • Create an environment that is secure, meaningful, and engaging for students.
  • Create a structure for discipline and good order in accordance with the school conduct policy.
  • Effectively communicate with senior leaders and parents/caregivers about the accomplishments and welfare of the students.
  • Take advantage of any professional development opportunities and relevant meetings offered by the institution.
  • Make sure that your colleagues working with you are suitably engaged in promoting learning.

You must…

  • Possess a recognised teaching qualification or qualified teacher status (QTS).
  • Have a thorough understanding of the national curriculum and a variety of teaching strategies.
  • Outstanding writing, active listening, and vocal communication skills.
  • Have relevant experience in an educational setting or assisting/teaching children.
  • Have an enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
