Early Years / KS1 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is recruiting a full‑time Teaching Assistant (Level 3) to support Early Years and KS1 pupils at a welcoming mainstream primary school in Burton. This is a fixed‑term role for the 2026/27 academic year, offering a fantastic opportunity to support young learners at the very start of their education journey.

The school is looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and flexible practitioner who can work across the Early Years and KS1 team, providing high‑quality support to pupils and staff.

Role Details

  • Start date: 1st September 2026
  • End date: 31st August 2027
  • Hours: 32.5 per week, term‑time only
  • Contract: Fixed term
  • Level: Teaching Assistant – Grade 3 (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent required)

About the Role

You will work under the direction of the Early Years/KS1 Phase Leaders to support children across the school. This includes:

  • Providing PPA cover
  • Supporting pupils on the SEND register
  • Delivering small‑group interventions
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering high‑quality learning
  • Offering flexible support across the school, including sickness and emergency cover

  • Hold GCSE English and Maths (A–C)
  • Bring relevant experience supporting learning in Early Years or KS1
