Early Years Teaching Assistant

Zest Education is excited to partner with a delightful school in Smethwick in search of a passionate Early Years Teaching Assistant to enrich the learning journey of young minds.

This part-time opportunity offers a rewarding experience working 4 days a week within a supportive educational environment starting from December 2024 and will continue until at least the end of the academic year. As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing and guiding students in their formative years, fostering their social and academic development whilst achieving a desirable work life balance working only 4 days a week, the school are also open to discuss working days around the candidates Schedule.

As an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) teaching assistant the school are looking for a candidate with prior experience working within a education based setting preferably with early year students. A deep understanding of child development, safeguarding practices, and the EYFS framework is crucial for this role. Additionally, strong communication skills are necessary to effectively interact with young children, parents, and other staff members.
The successful candidate should be patient, nurturing, and have a genuine passion for working with young children.

 The role responsibilities include:
– Supporting the class teacher in implementing the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
– Observing and assessing children’s progress and development, providing feedback to the teacher.
– Providing one-on-one support to children who may need extra help.
– Communicating effectively with parents and caregivers about children’s progress and well-being.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
