🧑‍🏫 English Teacher – Secondary Schools (Shrewsbury & Surrounding Areas)

Start Date: From April 2026
Location: Shrewsbury & surrounding areas
Contract: Full‑time
Pay: Competitive, based on experience

About the Role

Zest Education is supporting secondary schools in and around the Shrewsbury area that are seeking enthusiastic and committed English Teachers starting April 2026.

These schools are known for their supportive environments, strong leadership and commitment to high‑quality teaching and learning. Whether you’re an experienced English specialist or an early career teacher, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a positive English department and help inspire students across KS3 and KS4.

You Will

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the national curriculum
  • Create a well‑structured, motivating and inclusive learning environment
  • Assess student progress through classwork, writing assignments and tests
  • Provide targeted feedback and personalised support
  • Maintain strong classroom management and consistent expectations

What We’re Looking For

  • PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification with QTS or QTLS
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to teach KS3–KS4 confidently (KS5 experience desirable but not essential)
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level
  • Effective lesson planning, delivery and marking skills

Planning and marking apply only to long‑term placements.
