Food Technician, Tamworth

Job Description

Zest Education have an exciting opportunity for a food technician to work in a Secondary School in Tamworth from February 2025.

This role is on a supply basis, but may evolve into a permanent role for the right person.

Some of the work you may be expected to do would be:

  • Preparing and clearing away materials and equipment
  • Assisting teaching staff with demonstration lessons and practical’s
  • Making arrangements for maintenance and repair services to equipment
  • Assisting in the maintenance of health and safety standards
  • Assisting in the development of lesson plans
  • Contribute to the planning, development and organisation of systems/procedures/policies
  • Promoting healthy eating
  • Maintaining stock and breakage records, catalogues and user manuals
  • Ordering, receiving and accounting for new stock and equipment

 

Skill and Experience required:

  • experience of preparing food
  • to enjoy working with children
  • to be self-motivated

 

Pay rates start from £12.50 per hour

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
