Full Time Teaching Assistant (Maternity Cover)

Zest Education is currently recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to cover a maternity leave at a primary school in Burntwood.

This exciting role is set to start in April 2024 and offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young learners.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the classroom teacher to create a nurturing and stimulating environment for Year 1 students. Your role will involve providing individualised support to students, assisting with lesson preparation and implementation, and helping to create engaging educational resources.

To be successful in this position, you must hold a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in childcare and have recent experience working in an educational setting. Your knowledge and understanding of early years education will be crucial in effectively supporting the development and learning of the students.

Key Responsibilities:
– Provide one-on-one and group support to students during class activities
– Assist with the planning and delivery of engaging lessons
– Create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
– Support students with their emotional and social development
– Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the classroom teacher
– Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the classroom

Required Skills and Qualifications:
– Level 2 qualification or above in childcare
– Recent experience in an educational setting
– Passion for working with young children and supporting their learning
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students
– Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
