Teacher of History

Job Description

Zest Education are looking for a history teacher on behalf of a secondary school in the Burton area. This is a full-time position set to start September 2024 for one term with the likelihood of being extended for the rest of the academic year.

The school is a large secondary which caters for a broad range of pupils and has a growing reputation within the surrounding areas, as such community is a large part of the school ethos with students actively taking part in community events in and out of the school. The successful candidate must be a proactive and engaging individual with the desire to immerse themselves fully into school life.

The successful applicant should have the following:
  1. A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  2. A strong passion for the subject of History and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 would be ideal but is not a necessity)
  3. A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  4. The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  5. Strong classroom and behaviour management

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
