Job Description

Zest Education is recruiting for an experienced KS1 HLTA to work 3 days per week at a welcoming primary school in Burton. This role involves providing PPA cover across Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, supporting teaching and learning across the whole of KS1.

The school is looking for a confident, adaptable and enthusiastic HLTA who can start ASAP and remain in post until the end of the academic year.

About the Role

  • Part‑time: 3 days per week
  • Providing PPA cover across Reception – Year 2
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Ongoing until July (end of academic year)
  • Leading lessons using plans provided by the class teacher
  • Supporting whole‑class learning, small groups and individual pupils
  • Working closely with the KS1 team to maintain a positive, engaging learning environment

What We’re Looking For

  • HLTA qualification or strong HLTA‑level experience
  • Confident delivering lessons and covering classes independently
  • Experience supporting KS1 (Reception–Y2)
  • Strong understanding of phonics, early reading and early maths
  • Positive, proactive and flexible approach
  • Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
  • Reliable, organised and committed to supporting children’s progress
