Zest Education is currently recruiting for a part-time Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Tamworth. This afternoon-only role is due to start in September and offers an ongoing opportunity for the right candidate.

This position will see you supporting pupils across Key Stage 2, working alongside class teachers to help create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. It is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting children during a crucial stage of their primary education.

About the Role

As a KS2 Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to pupils across Key Stage 2 during afternoon lessons and interventions. You will assist with classroom activities, support small groups and individual learners, and help pupils remain focused and engaged throughout their learning.

The school is looking for a proactive and reliable individual who can build positive relationships with pupils and contribute to the overall success of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning across Key Stage 2 classes.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Encourage participation, confidence, and independence.
  • Assist with the delivery of targeted interventions where required.
  • Support pupils with varying learning needs.
  • Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement within lessons.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

  • Have experience working with primary-aged children, ideally within KS2.
  • Be patient, positive, and enthusiastic about supporting learning.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate a flexible and proactive approach.
  • Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
