Learning Support Assistant

Job Description

Zest Education is currently looking for a motivated individual for a Part-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) role at a 2-form entry primary school in Tyseley.

Starting in January 2024, this ongoing role will require you to work Monday to Thursday, providing invaluable support to students in a Year 2 class. As an LSA, you will play a vital role in aiding the students’ learning journey, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and assistance to both support and challenge.

The school has strong values and prioritise the mental health and well-being of both staff and pupils. The supportive Senior Leadership Team (SLT) ensures that everyone feels valued and supported, creating a positive and nurturing environment for both personal and professional growth.

While not essential, experience in KS1 SATs preparation would be highly desirable for this role. This additional skill set would enable you to effectively assist the Year 2 children in their preparation for the upcoming assessments, ensuring they feel confident and well-prepared.

As a Learning Support Assistant at Zest Education, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners. You will work closely with the class teacher to implement individualised learning plans, provide one-to-one and small group support, and create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.

To be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication skills, a patient and caring nature, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. You should be able to use and work to your own initiative as well as taking guidance from the class teacher.

If you are interested in this position or want to find out more, email Rebecca at rebecca@zesteducation.co.uk or ‘apply for job’ at the top of the page to submit your details.

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.

The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
