A friendly and supportive primary school in Erdington is seeking a dedicated KS2 Learning Support Assistant to join their team immediately. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education and supporting children in Key Stage 2.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and pupils to provide academic, emotional, and classroom support, helping children build confidence and achieve their full potential.

This role is ideal for experienced Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants, or individuals looking to gain valuable primary school experience.


🧩About the KS2 Learning Support Assistant Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils across Key Stage 2. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 support and small group interventions
  • Supporting pupils with reading, writing, maths, and classroom activities
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging KS2 lessons
  • Adapting learning resources to meet individual learning needs
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, participation, and classroom engagement
  • Supporting children’s confidence, wellbeing, and social development
  • Helping create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff, and parents where required

You will help pupils stay focused, motivated, and supported throughout the school day while promoting independence and positive learning experiences.

To be considered for this Learning Support Assistant role in Erdington, you should have:

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting
  • KS2 or primary school experience (desirable)
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A patient, flexible, and positive attitude
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
