Learning Support Assistant.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Learning Support Assistant to work in a special educational needs school located in Stourbridge. The position is due to begin October 2022 and will continue on a long-term basis into the new academic year.

This school caters for students from the age of three to fourteen with complex needs, severe learning difficulties, including autism, and students with profound and multiple learning difficulties. Although this position is to work in a school environment, we are open to receiving applications from TA’s, support workers and individuals that have worked with adults with special educational needs.

The aim of the school is to provide specialist individual support to each child, enabling them to reach their potential so they can live fulfilling and productive lives. You will be expected to establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with students in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the school, and to promote and encourage independence and personal development in pupils and maintain high expectations of behaviour at all times.

The role:

  • You must have experience supporting individuals with special educational needs or in a care environment
  • You will be confident, enthusiastic and be able to identify and engage with different learning needs
  • Help young people with a range of needs, including PMLD, complex medical conditions and autism to achieve their educational and personal goals
