Learning Support Assistant – SEN School (Stoke-on-Trent)

Full‑Time | Term‑Time Only

A well‑established SEN school in the Stoke-on-Trent area is seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their dedicated team. This is a potential full‑week role for the right candidate, perfect for someone who is motivated, nurturing, and eager to help young learners thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, MLD, SLD, SEMH, and communication needs.
  • Assist class teachers with lesson delivery, learning activities, and behaviour support strategies.
  • Help create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for all pupils.
  • Support pupils with personal development, independence, and emotional regulation.
  • Follow individual learning plans and work closely with teachers and support staff.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people (SEN experience desirable).
  • A caring, patient, and resilient approach to supporting learning needs.
  • Full‑week availability, Monday to Friday.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable learners.
  • Willingness to undertake training and develop SEN expertise.
