Male PE Teacher

Job Description

Zest Education are working closely with a secondary school in the Sutton Coldfield area to recruit a male PE teacher for full time position set to start September 2024 for an initial period of one term, this role is likely to be extended as a Male teacher is required for changing room supervision, however this decision is up to the school.

As a male PE teacher in a full-time position, planning lessons and marking any practical work is an essential part of the role with this comes the responsibility of managing and supervising the changing rooms before and after a PE lesson. Excellent behaviour management is essential, along with the ability to be creative and adaptable.

This school is well established with strong ties to the local community. Easily accessible by local public transport links such as the bus and train with ample on site parking for staff who decide to drive into work. The School offers state of the art facilities and the opportunity for further development when in the role.

A successful applicant will have the following:
  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  • A strong passion for PE as a subject and a vast knowledge of the subject across KS3 and KS4, knowledge at KS5 would also be advantageous.
  • The desire to work as part of the larger department and with the wider school
  • The ability to be involved and lead extracurricular PE clubs and activities
