About the Role

Zest Education is working in partnership with a well-established secondary school in Wolverhampton to recruit a qualified Music Teacher with QTS for a long-term supply role starting in September 2026.

This is a full teaching role, including planning, marking, and assessment responsibilities. The successful candidate will deliver Music across KS3 and KS4, with a focus on engaging lessons and strong student outcomes.

The position is expected to continue on a long-term basis, with the potential to run across the full academic year.

The school is supportive and well-organised, with a strong focus on creativity, engagement, and consistent classroom practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging Music lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4, including GCSE Music where applicable
  • Complete all planning, marking, and assessment responsibilities
  • Encourage creativity, performance, and musical understanding
  • Monitor pupil progress and support achievement across ability levels
  • Maintain positive behaviour and structured classroom routines
  • Contribute to the wider Music and Performing Arts department

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification
  • A degree in Music or a related subject
  • Experience teaching Music at KS3 and KS4 (GCSE desirable)
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Passion for music education and student engagement
  • Ability to commit to a long-term placement
