Science Teacher Newport – Part Time

Job Description

Looking to have two days off a week? Is a better work life balance what you’re dreaming of?  We have the role for you! A secondary school in the Newport area are recruiting for a part time (0.6) Science Teacher to start February 2025 for a minimum of one half term.

The school designs their curriculum to appropriately challenge their students throughout all key stages with the support of specialist teachers. The successful candidate would be working as part of the larger science department taking an active role in lunch time and afterschool workshops and revision sessions.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Have a PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS.
  • An enthusiasm for science with exceptional knowledge across KS3, KS4 and KS5
  • Desire to work as part of a wider team, supporting them as and when they need
  • The ability to effectively mark, plan and deliver lessons of a high quality.
  • Have classroom and behaviour management experience.
