Part Time – Teaching Assistant Year 2

Hours: Part-Time (3 days a week)

Position Overview:

Zest are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Part-Time Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 class, starting in September 2024. This role is integral in helping young learners develop academically and socially. You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons, provide one-on-one support, and assist in creating a stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Year 2 teacher in planning and delivering educational activities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need extra help.
• Prepare classroom materials and resources.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Support the development of students’ literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
• Foster a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Participate in school events and activities as required.

Requirements:

• Experience working with young children, preferably in an educational setting.
• A passion for education and supporting children’s learning and development.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of child development and educational practices.

Desirable:

• Relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare.
• First Aid certification.
• Experience with special educational needs (SEN).

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
