Resource Base Teacher

Part‑Time (4 Days per Week) | Mainstream Primary School | Kings Heath

Zest Education is recruiting an experienced and committed Resource Base Teacher for a mainstream primary school in the Kings Heath area. This is a part‑time teaching role (4 days per week) within a specialist SEN resource base, supporting EYFS and Key Stage 1 pupils with high and varying additional needs.

This role is ideal for a teacher with a strong background in SEND, early years, and inclusive practice, who thrives as part of a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary team.

The Role

As a Resource Base Teacher, you will take responsibility for teaching and supporting a small cohort of up to 12 learners with a range of complex and additional needs. You will plan, deliver, and adapt learning to meet individual needs while working closely with Teaching Assistants, SEN staff, and the wider school team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering tailored, inclusive lessons for EYFS/KS1 pupils
  • Supporting children with high and diverse SEN needs within a resource base
  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and SEN professionals
  • Monitoring progress and adapting provision to meet individual learning needs
  • Contributing to EHCP targets, personalised learning plans, and reviews
  • Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates should demonstrate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching within SEN, resource base, or specialist provision
  • Strong knowledge of EYFS and KS1 curriculum
  • Experience supporting pupils with complex needs (including ASD, communication needs, and learning difficulties)
  • The ability to plan and deliver as part of a wider SEN team
  • A calm, flexible, and child‑centred approach
