Start Date: April 2026
Location: Shrewsbury & the wider Shropshire area
Contract: Full-time / Part-time
Pay: Competitive, based on experience

About the Role

Zest Education is working with multiple secondary schools across Shrewsbury and the surrounding Shropshire areas who are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teachers from April 2026.

You will be teaching the full Science curriculum across KS3 and KS4, including Biology, Chemistry and Physics, with opportunities in some schools to deliver your specialist subject at KS5. Schools in the area are well‑regarded for their supportive and inclusive ethos, offering strong professional environments for both early career and experienced teachers.

Whether you are seeking a long‑term placement, short‑term cover, or flexible supply, we have a range of roles available to suit your circumstances.

You Will

  • Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned Science lessons
  • Create a positive, inclusive and motivating classroom environment
  • Assess pupil progress through a range of methods
  • Provide constructive feedback and tailored support
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and standards

What We’re Looking For

  • PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification with QTS
  • A degree in a science‑related subject
  • Strong knowledge of Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics
  • Experience teaching at KS3–KS4 (KS5 desirable)
  • Good behaviour management and classroom presence
  • Confident planning, delivering and (where applicable) marking lessons

Planning and marking typically apply only to short‑term or long‑term placements.
