Zest is proud to be working alongside a primary school in the Nechells who are recruiting for a SEND teaching assistant to work on a full-time basis in Early Years. The role is to start in January 2024 and will continue for the full academic year.

The warm and welcoming school is part of an inclusive community where all children and staff are encouraged to be happy and successful. The school also have a team of hard-working staff who put the children at the heart of everything they do. The staff also provide a stimulating environment for all children to strive including spacious indoors and outdoors areas to help with development for pupils of all abilities.

The candidate will be working with multiple children across KS1 who have mild SEND needs. You will be working with these children on a 1-1 basis as well as in small groups.

To be considered for this role you must be patience, resilient and able to engage with the pupils who have ASD/ADHD.  You must also be adaptable as may need to change daily routines to meet the needs of the pupils you will be supporting. Working effectively in a team and using your initiative will also be expected.

The pay for this role will start from £80 dependent on references and experience.

Experience working with SEND children is essential for this role.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
