Teacher of Biology

Job Description

Zest Education are seeking an experienced Teacher of Biology to join a secondary school in the Rednal area. This is a full time role where the successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons to students across KS3 and KS4. The role is due to commence in September 2024 and will run for at least two terms.

Responsibilities:

– Teach Biology to students across KS3 and KS4
– Create engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards
– Deliver interactive and hands-on lessons to promote student understanding and engagement
– Assess and evaluate student performance through tests and assignments
– Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them improve their understanding of the subject
– Utilise various teaching methods and resources to accommodate learners of different abilities and learning styles
– Demonstrate strong classroom management skills to maintain a positive and conducive learning environment
– Collaborate with other teachers to plan and coordinate interdisciplinary activities
– Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions as required
– Uphold and enforce school policies regarding behaviour management and student discipline

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Biology or relevant subject
– Experience teaching biology at the secondary school level
– Knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment standards
– Ability to effectively plan and deliver engaging lessons
– Strong behavior management skills and the ability to handle challenging students
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Adaptability and flexibility in responding to the diverse needs of students
– Commitment to ongoing professional development
