Job Description

Zest Education are seeking an experienced English Teacher to join a fantastic secondary school in the Harborne area. This is a full-time position requiring experience in teaching both Language and Literature. The role is due to commence in September 2024 and will run for a minimum of one term, with possibility of further extension.

Responsibilities:

– Delivering high-quality English Language and Literature lessons to secondary school students
– Creating engaging and effective lesson plans
– Assessing students’ progress and providing constructive feedback
– Identifying and addressing individual learning needs
– Maintaining accurate and up-to-date student records
– Collaborating with colleagues to plan and implement curriculum activities
– Participating in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
– Contributing to the school’s extracurricular activities where required

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English or a related field
– Previous experience teaching English Language and Literature in a secondary school setting
– Strong knowledge of curriculum standards and requirements
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to motivate and inspire students
– Organised and efficient with strong classroom management skills
– Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
