English Teacher

Job Description

Zest Education are looking to recruit a .8 teacher of English for a local Stafford secondary school. The role is part time, 4 days a week for a minimum of 1 half term starting September 2024, with the likelihood to extend for the full term..

The school is centrally located with modern facilities due to a recent focus on funding and and developing the site. The ideal candidate for this position will be an English teacher with strong classroom and behaviour management. Planning and marking are essential in this role so a keen eye for detail is required. The school aims to work together with parents and pupils to ensure they are reaching their potential and striving for success.

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  1. A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  2. A strong passion for the subject of English and excellent subject knowledge up to KS5
  3. A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  4. The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  5. Strong classroom and behaviour management

Zest Education are an REC audited agency and are dedicated to safeguarding children. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum requirements for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
