Teacher of Resistant Materials

Job Description

Zest Education are seeking an experienced Teacher of Resistant Materials to join a secondary school in the Bedworth area. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons and promoting students’ creativity and practical skills. This is a full-time role where planning and marking is required. The role is due to commence in January 2025 and will run for a minimum of one term.

Responsibilities:

– Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Resistant Materials to secondary school students.
– Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes students’ creativity, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking abilities.
– Set and assess students’ work, providing constructive feedback to support their progress.
– Monitor and track students’ progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate interventions if necessary.
– Collaborate with colleagues to develop and share teaching resources, ensuring consistency across the department.
– Engage students in practical projects and guide them in using various tools and equipment safely.
– Stay up to date with developments in Resistant Materials education and incorporate them into your teaching practice.

Requirements:

– Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
– Experience teaching Resistant Materials at secondary level.
– Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the UK curriculum.
– Ability to motivate and inspire students, fostering a love for the subject.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
– Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping up to date with best practices in teaching and learning.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
