Part-time Teaching Assistant, Stourbridge.

Zest Education is proud to be working with a ‘Good’ Ofsted rated special educational needs school in Stourbridge, Birmingham who are seeking a committed Teaching Assistant. This is a part-time position, and you will be required to work 3 days a week, 8:30 to 15:30. This position due to start in September 2022 and will continue into the new academic year.

This school caters for students from the age of three to sixteen with complex needs, severe learning difficulties, including autism, and pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties. The ideal candidate must have experience supporting individuals with SEND or in a similar environment.

The school is a large SEND school which caters for a broad range of pupils and has a growing reputation within the surrounding areas. All the students at this school have complex needs which require effective team working to provide the best outcomes. The role will require you to quickly build engaging relationships with small groups of children, and you will need to work closely as a team with the class teacher and other teaching assistants.

The role:

  • The successful candidate will have knowledge and understanding of the needs of working in an alternative provision and will be able to forge positive and mutually respectful relationships with colleagues and students
  • You will be required to work with the students individually and in small groups
  • You will be working alongside the class teacher, preparing learning resources and maintaining the classroom to a high standard
