Teaching Assistant – EAL (English as an Additional Language)
📍 Location: Kingstanding, Birmingham (Mainstream Primary School)
🕒 Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Full-time)
📅 Start Date: November 2025
A welcoming mainstream primary school in Kingstanding, Birmingham is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL). This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children’s education by helping them access the curriculum and build confidence in their language skills.
Support EAL pupils in accessing lessons and developing their English language skills.
Work 1:1 or in small groups to provide targeted interventions.
Assist the class teacher with planning and adapting resources to meet language needs.
Encourage positive behaviour, inclusion, and engagement in the classroom.
Help create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Previous experience working with children in a school setting.
Experience supporting pupils with EAL – highly desirable.
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification – preferred but not essential.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning.
