1:1 Teaching Assistant – Year 3 (Autism & SEMH Support)

Full‑Time | Term Time Only | Immediate Start

Are you a strong, confident and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding, full‑time role where you can genuinely make a difference?

We are recruiting a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 3 pupil who has Autism, SEMH and high behavioural needs at a school in Longbridge. This position is ideal for an experienced and resilient individual who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting children with complex needs.


The Role

  • 1:1 classroom support within a Year 3 setting
  • Supporting a pupil with Autism, SEMH and high behavioural needs
  • Implementing behaviour strategies, emotional regulation techniques and personalised learning plans
  • Supporting engagement with learning and social interaction
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider pastoral team
  • Providing consistency, structure and a calm, reassuring presence

This is a full‑time role continuing until the end of the academic year.


Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:20am – 3:35pm
  • Term time only

Commitment to the full working week is essential.


The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

  • NVQ Level 3 qualified (or equivalent)
  • Experienced in supporting pupils with Autism and/or SEMH
  • Confident in managing challenging behaviour positively and professionally
  • Calm, patient, resilient and emotionally intelligent
  • Consistent, reliable and fully committed to a long‑term role
  • Able to build strong, trusting relationships with children
  • Passionate about making a lasting impact

Experience in a 1:1 or SEN support role is highly desirable.
