Teaching Assistant – Reception

Job Description

Zest Education is currently recruiting for a part-time Teaching Assistant position in a reception class at a delightful primary school located in Tamworth. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team and make a difference in the lives of young learners.

Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with the class teacher to create a positive and engaging learning environment for reception students.
– Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them develop their foundational skills and reach their full potential.
– Assist in planning and implementing educational activities, ensuring that they are age-appropriate and aligned with the curriculum.
– Support students with their personal, social, and emotional development, promoting a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
– Monitor and record students’ progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and parents when necessary.

Requirements:
– Possess a Level 2 or above qualification in Childcare.
– Previous experience working with reception or nursery-aged children.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and students.
– Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
– Strong organisational and time management abilities.
– Ability to adapt to the needs of individual students and differentiate instruction accordingly.

This part-time position requires the successful candidate to work four days a week, with a flexible schedule. The contract is due to start as soon as possible, with an anticipated end date of March 2024. However, for the ideal candidate, there is a possibility of  extension.

All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
