Job Description

Zest Education is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming and high-achieving primary school in Lichfield.

This is a full-time teaching role to start after February half term and continue until the end of the academic year.

About the Role

As a Year 1 Class Teacher, you will take on a full class of 19 pupils in a friendly and supportive mainstream setting.

The role requires a confident, creative, and dedicated primary teacher who can plan engaging lessons, inspire pupils, and contribute positively to the school community.

You’ll be working in a warm and inclusive environment where children are encouraged to explore, achieve, and enjoy their learning every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver exciting and inclusive lessons across the Year 1 curriculum.

  • Create a positive, engaging classroom environment that supports every child’s learning.

  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress regularly.

  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and teaching assistants to support the needs of all learners.

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.

  • Experience working in Key Stage 1 (KS1) or Early Years preferred.

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.

  • Passion for education and a commitment to pupil success.

  • Ability to work full time and deliver consistent, high-quality teaching.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
