Are you ready to kickstart the new year with a rewarding role in education? Do you have a passion for helping children achieve their full potential? If so, Zest Education has the perfect opportunity for you! We are seeking a dedicated Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Tyseley. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm, supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and inspiring lessons. The position is ongoing until the end of the academic year, offering an excellent chance to develop your skills and build lasting relationships within a supportive school community.

As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring every pupil receives the individual support they need to succeed academically and personally.
As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, your duties will include:
Supporting planned learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
Assisting in lesson planning and providing feedback on pupil progress.
Monitoring and recording student development and behaviour.
Delivering one-to-one or small group interventions where required.
Preparing classroom materials and maintaining a safe, organised learning space.
Communicating effectively with teachers, senior staff, and parents about student progress.
To be successful in this Year 2 Teaching Assistant role, you should have:
Previous experience working with children in an educational setting.
A good understanding of the National Curriculum.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
An enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
A genuine enthusiasm for supporting children’s learning and development.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
