English Teacher

Job Description

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic English Teacher who is passionate about raising student achievement and inspiring a love for language and literature. The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stages 3 to 5, planning and delivering engaging lessons that stretch and challenge all students

  • Use assessment data to monitor progress, identify gaps, and adapt teaching accordingly

  • Foster a classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour, mutual respect, and high expectations

  • Contribute to the development of the English curriculum, ensuring content is well‐sequenced, relevant and inclusive

  • Collaborate with department colleagues to share excellent practice, moderate work, and support student outcomes

  • Provide support and guidance to students, including feedback on work, extra help where necessary, and encouragement for them to achieve their full potential

  • Participate in whole‐school initiatives, pastoral duties, and contribute to school life beyond the classroom

E-ACT Crest Academy is a mixed, 11-19 secondary academy in Neasden, Brent, London. Key features include:

Person Specification (Essential)

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Relevant degree in English, English Literature or related field

  • Demonstrable experience teaching English at secondary level, with good outcomes in GCSE and/or A-Level (if applicable)

  • Strong subject knowledge and up‐to‐date pedagogical practice

  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues

  • Commitment to continuous professional development
