Biology Teacher

Job Description

Zest Education have been working closely with a secondary school located in Staffordshire and are supporting them in their search for a new Biology Teacher on a part-time basis (0.6, days can be flexible) starting September 2024.

Ideally the school are looking for an individual who specialises in Biology, however, would consider applicants who have experience of teaching core science  up to KS4. The successful applicant would be joining a dedicated and hardworking department who are aiming to improve upon recent student results.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is looking to create a great work life balance as the role is three days a week .

The successful applicant will have:

  1. A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS
  2. A strong passion for the subject of Biology and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
  3. A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment
  4. The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  5. Strong classroom and behaviour management

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and recent school-based experience (teaching within a school teaching the British Curriculum).
