Zest Education are looking for a English Teacher to take over from January 2024 until the end of the academic year. The school in South Birmingham is a dynamic a forward-thinking educational institution committed to providing a challenging and inspiring learning environment for their diverse student body.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. The successful candidate will be passionate about English education, possess excellent communication skills, and have a proven track record of engaging students in the wonders of the scientific world. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of our students and contribute to the growth and success of the school.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and challenging English curriculum aligned with academic standards.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
  • Utilise innovative teaching methods to make complex scientific concepts accessible and interesting to students.
  • Implement effective assessment strategies to evaluate student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and integrated educational experience for students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with advancements in science education.

Requirements:

  • A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS.
  • A strong passion for the subject of English and excellent subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 would be ideal but isn’t a necessity).
  • A team ethos and want to be part of a strong team environment.
  • The ability to plan, mark and deliver high quality lessons (planning and marking only for short/long term placements).
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
